IEE was founded in 1987 in Woburn, Massachusetts as a subsidiary of an asbestos consulting company. The Institute was created to provide asbestos training to accredit asbestos professionals in response to President Reagan’s signing of the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act of 1986 (AHERA). Although asbestos training courses were the mainstay at that time, IEE has continuously expanded into other areas of the environmental and safety & health fields since 1989.
In 1991, under new ownership, IEE separated from its parent company and became an independent Massachusetts corporation. IEE continued to diversify into other environmental safety and health fields.
With our 2001 move to our current 10,700 square foot custom-designed facility in Wilmington, Massachusetts, we've expanded our state-of-the-art capabilities in both classroom and hands-on training areas.
IEE is prepared to face the emerging environmental and economic challenges and has revitalized its appearance with a dynamic, web re-design as well a bold, new corporate logo. Rest assured though, IEE remains committed to providing the very best environmental health and safety training in New England.
We take pride in watching our students grow from their initial classes on through their annual refreshers. Through our training process, we help to develop a “green”, informed, and educated workforce.
And as a person of faith, my goal for IEE is that we strive to be fair, honest, informative, and professional with our clients. We seek to provide the highest quality of training and consulting services to our students in an atmosphere conducive to professional and career development.
Sincerely,
Martin Wood
President
